Obituary

Zelna Ione Whitlock McKamie, 80, of Bethany, Oklahoma was born November 22, 1931 in Texarkana, Arkansas. She went to be with the Lord on February 25, 2012. Zelna was an accomplished pianist who taught piano to hundreds of children. She faithfully served as Church Pianist for First Church of the Nazarene in Texas City, Texas and also played the piano for the children's services that she and her loving husband, Wayne, led. She played and led singing at countless family gatherings. Daily, Zelna would fill her home with hymns and popular songs that would invite others to join in and sing with her. After raising her 3 boys, she returned to work as a "key punch" operator and made lasting, loving relationships with her coworkers. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Pamela Sue; sisters, Rebekah Shelton, Rachel Watson, Lorraine Kounter; and brother, Scott Whitlock. She leaves behind the love of her life, Wayne, her husband of 61 years; her son and his wife, Wayne Jr. and Pam of Leawood, KS, her son and his wife, Andy and Rhonda of Yukon, OK, and her son and his wife, Mike and Deborah of Bethany, OK; Nana's grandchildren, Zachary Burgess McKamie of Overland Park, KS, Melissa Lauren McKamie and Jessica Amber Winderweedle of Princeton, New Jersey, Joshua Andrew McKamie and his wife Aubree Anna of Bethany, OK, Dustin Wayne McKamie and his fiance Kristi Gail Hatsell, Leawood, KS, Chadwick Austin McKamie and his wife Kendall Lynn of Bethany, OK, Michele Sadie McKamie of Vail, CO, Elise Megan Kurtz and her husband A.J. of Overland Park, KS, Mallory Jane McKamie of Leawood, KS, Boston Scott McKamie of Bethany, OK, and Brylee Reese McKamie of Bethany, OK; and sisters, Mary Hamilton and husband Kent, and JoAnna Whitlock, all of St. Louis, MO.
