Obituary

Zella Mae Moore, 86, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2011. She was born on December 6, 1924 to Harvey Alcorn and Beulah Oaks Alcorn, in Bentonville, AR. The family moved to Bethany, OK, where she spent her formative years, and attended the Nazarene church. She graduated from Bethany HS in 1943, and was active in planning and attending her HS reunions at every opportunity throughout her life. She worked as a secretary until she married the love of her life, Earl L. Moore, on August 6, 1948. They enjoyed 39 years of marriage until his death in 1987. They made their home in Bethany, and later at Ski Island Lake, and enjoyed vacation homes in Red River, NM, and Pharr, TX. Earl and Zella both were Sooner Fans extraordinaire. They never missed a home game, and traveled extensively to away and bowl games. They were also members of The Greens Country Club where they enjoyed golfing. Zella also loved attending her granddaughters softball and basketball games from the T-ball years through college.
