Winston C. Ketner, 89, went home to be with the Lord on July 11, 2016 in OKC. He was born October 26, 1926 in Norman, OK to Ed and Edith (Nethery) Ketner. A visionary, he opened Johnstone Supply of OKC in 1964, a wholesale HVAC supply, and served on the national board of directors. A proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served as a mechanic after WWII. This led to his lifetime love of cars and substantial friendships with many car dealers. He met the love of his life, Kathryn Kafer, and they were married in October of 1949, sharing nearly 67 wonderful years together. Winston was a faithful member of Putnam City Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, encourager to pastors and staff, and participant on numerous committees and building projects. He was a faithful follower of the Lord who enjoyed ministering to those who visited the church and helping anyone in need. A naturally hard worker, he was a very giving man, always thinking of others first. He not only loved God, he loved his family. He lived by example and will be sorely missed. Survivors include his loving wife, Kathryn; daughter, Pam Temple and husband Mark; son, Lee Ketner and wife Jetta; grandchildren, Erica Brown and husband Bryan, Aaron Temple and wife Alex, Whitney Ferguson and husband Tyler, and Caleb Ketner; and 3 great-grandchildren, Hudson, Grayson, and Remi. Memorial services will be Thursday, July 14, 2:00pm at Putnam City Baptist Church with the Rev. Rod Masteller officiating.
