Winnolia N. "Pinky" Porterfield, 82, died January 20, 2014 in OKC. She was born February 5, 1931 in Fay, OK to Lawrence and Zelma (Stoll) Crain. She was high school Valedictorian at Thomas High School, Thomas, OK. A registered nurse, she graduated from Mercy School of Nursing in 1953. After graduation, she worked at Children's Hospital, Baptist Hospital and was instrumental in establishing the first neonatal nursery at Mercy Hospital. She started the Celiac Support Group for Oklahoma City and served as their president. Pinky had many artistic talents including, but not limited to, her paintings, crafts and sewing. She was a member of the Toll Diggers. Above all, she was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her four children. She will be missed by those left behind. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; and 2 sisters. Survivors include her son, Phil Crain and wife Judith of Leeds, ME; daughter, Randa Shade and husband Richard of Amarillo, TX; son, Jim Porterfield and wife Shirley of Bethany, OK; son, Zack Porterfield, of OKC; brother, Warren Crain and wife Leona; sister, Gwendolyn Cox; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Services will be Thursday, January 23, 11:00am at Kelham Baptist Church with graveside following at 2:00pm in New Hope Cemetery, Tecumseh, OK.
