Obituary

Winnie Mae Peckham went to be with her heavenly Father on January 30, 2011. Winnie, affectionately known as Nanny to her family and friends, was born on April 28, 1919 in Mena, Arkansas. A true angel on earth, Winnie led a life dedicated to the Lord, serving many years as a childrens Sunday school and Vacation Bible School teacher, and choir member at Exchange Avenue Baptist Church. She was a faithful servant at Falls Creek Camp and made several mission trips to Mexico. Winnie especially enjoyed caring for her family, cooking, sewing, and fishing for trout at the Blue River. A precious wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Nanny enriched our lives and blessed our hearts, and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 73 glorious years, John R. Peckham; daughter Beverly Bridges; daughter Joni Jones and husband Don Jones; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous family and friends. She was preceded in death by daughter Mary Lynn Mayfield. The family will receive friends at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service, Thursday, February 3 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Exchange Avenue Baptist Church, Friday, February 4 at 10:00 a.m. with interment following at Enid Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to EABC 1312 S. Pennsylvania, Oklahoma City, OK 73108.
