Obituary

Willmetta (Metta) Lucille Moore was born March 7, 1929 in Sapulpa, OK. She was the sixth of seven children born to Walter and Wilma Tarr. After a short battle with cancer, she went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 26, 2014. Her family moved to Ponca City, OK where she received her education. Being very independent, she left home at a young age, but eventually returned to Oklahoma, living in Blackwell, Ponca City, and made Oklahoma City her final home. She received her cosmetology license and opened a beauty shop on Grand Ave in Ponca City. She was a very talented homemaker, and loved making things beautiful. She was self-sufficient and very hard working; qualities she instilled in her children. In her later years, she enjoyed taking care of her yard and working in her rose garden until her health made it difficult. She was blessed with 4 children, Harold Brauer and wife Jeri of Rye, CO, Nancy Caskey and husband Robert of Blackwell, OK, Ed Moore and wife Sandy of Shawnee, OK, and Gina Kerr and husband Larry of Bethany, OK. Along with her children, she was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her 12 grandchildren include Neil Brauer, Dary Smith and wife Kathy, Tara Smith, Random Massey and wife Sally, Christy Long and husband Doug, Corley Moore and wife Amanda, Nesta Fleming and husband Nick, Randi Taylor and husband Jon, Summer Nichols and husband Travis, Tyler Moore, ReAnna Little and husband Jason, and Kyle Kerr and wife Kasey. "Grandma Bumpy" had 24 great-grandchildren: Shelby, Hunter, and Madden Smith, Rylee and Kierstin Smith, Patience, Tristan and Clay Massey, Kenton, Justin and Kiley Long, Dyllan, Micah, and Jakscot Moore, Ashlyn, Hayden, Briley, Cayla, and Colson Fleming, Isabelle and Kimberlin Taylor, Lyric and Harper Nichols, and Jacy Little. She is survived by one sister, Clara Isabell Wells of Harrah, OK, and was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. We truly appreciate the care given to her by Oklahoma Hospice Care, and the Warr Acres Nursing Home. A special thank you to Bethany Walls, Chaplain Jim Beckett, and Shauntae Jackson for their extra attention and loving care they gave Mom. We love you Mom, you will be missed. Funeral Service Saturday, March 29, 2014 10:00 AM Mercer-Adams Chapel 3925 N. Asbury Bethany, OK 73008
