Obituary

Willis Wayne Moore, 81, died August 15, 2015. He and his twin brother were born March 21, 1934 in Fairview, OK to Dennis and Martha Ellen (Kyle) Moore. He and his first wife moved from Fairview to Bethany in the fall of 1954 to start school at Bethany Peniel College. In addition to school, he worked many jobs and was a member of the National Guard. Beginning in 1964, he owned and operated the Unique Caf, across from the Bethany Nazarene College. For over ten years, he successfully ran this and several other businesses in and around Oklahoma City. He later moved to Bird City, Kansas, where he married his second wife, Shelby Jean Shaffner, in 1976. The two of them continued working together in the restaurant business in Kansas and Colorado, until they moved to Ft. Collins, Colorado. After missing family and friends in Oklahoma, the two of them returned to Oklahoma, first to Seminole and then to Bethany. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Shelby; daughters, LaDonna Moore and husband Glen, Tammy Doser; sons, Ron Moore and husband Bruce, Tyler Moore and wife Kelley; brother Willard Moore and wife Darlene; sister Wanda Baxter; 11 grandchildren, Frank, Greg, Kyle, Eric, Michael, Melena, Marshall, Morgan, Kaylor, Kyle, Vincent and Tia; and 9 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be Tuesday, 9am-9pm, with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Wednesday, August 19, 10:00am at Calvary Church of the Nazarene with interment in Bethel Cemetery, Fairview, OK.
