William H (Bill) Pelley died 12/6/2022 from natural causes. He was 95 years old. Born in Beggs, OK in 1927, he moved with the family to oil boomtown, Maud, Oklahoma in 1929. William was the younger of two sons born to John E. and Daisy Pelley. John E. Pelley was a restaurant entrepreneur. William and his brother John grew up in rural Oklahoma during the years of the Great Depression. William graduated from Maud High School and then served with the Army during the post-war reconstruction of Japan. After his service in the Army, he earned a business degree from Oklahoma University. He was an entrepreneur in the car business in Texas and later owned an oil field service business in Oklahoma City. William was an accomplished pilot, and his favorite hobby was writing short stories. He married Lila Rachelle Schwartz in Oklahoma and spent many happy years with her in Oklahoma. William provided loving support for his wife Rachelle who preceded him death in 2014 at the age of 101. Survivors include his two nephews, John D. Pelley of Lenoir City, TN, and Scott C. Pelley of Kendalia, TX; and niece, Gay Pepin of Folsom, CA. William was interred in the Cummings Cemetery, Maud, Oklahoma on 12/12/22 with family present.
