Bill, 76, was born to Wm. S. Murphy, Sr. and Lillian Lawson Murphy in Dallas, Texas and raised in Oklahoma. He was a 1957 graduate of Northwest Classen High School, receiving his BS degree from OCU in 1963 and a Juris Doctorate from OCU School of Law in 1969. Bill worked as an adjuster for MIC/GMAC for 7 years until opening his law practice in 1970. He was very proud of his association with the lawyers, judges and friends at the Oklahoma Workers Compensation Court for over 35 years.
Bill loved music and played the drums from childhood. He was a member of musicians union, AF of M local 375-703, since high school. Bill played music with great musicians and bands, including Webb Pierce, Leon McAuliffe, Bill Phillips at the Blue Note, Bell Hess at Huckins Hotel Hunt Club and many other local artists.
Predeceased by his parents, survivors of his devoted family include his wife of 57 years, Jacqueline; his 3 sons, Bill IV (Nila), Robert (Kaylynn) and Daniel; his daughter, Laura Beth; grandchildren, Courtney, Murphy, McKenna, Conner, triplets Rylee, Patrick and Gillian, and Lyndle, Christi and Alex.
At Bills request, only private family graveside services will be held in Carney, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to Hearts for Hearing, 3525 N.W. 56th, Suite A-150, OKC, OK 73112.
