William Orellana
Medina
Jun 22, 1967 — Nov 23, 2024
William Orellana Medina, 57, of Bethany, OK gained his angel wings on November 23, 2024. William was born on June 22, 1967 in Jiquilisco, Usulutan, El Salvador.
William was preceded in death by his father, Luis Medina; mother, Enma Orellana; and mother-in-law, Martha Marris.
He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Louise; oldest daughter, Veronica Medina and her husband Danny Ortiz; youngest daughter, Sandra Medina and her husband Oscar Penate; his eight grandchildren, Oreana, Gabriela, Daniella, Abagail, Marcos, Salvador, Elena, and Susana; and his many siblings who reside in Texas, California, and El Salvador.
William was a tough man with the softest heart. When not instilling toughness into his family, he was comforting them with his words of wisdom and reassurance. He was a protector in every sense of the word and had no problem speaking his mind. While he may have faced numerous trials and tribulations, he was ultimately a firm believer in God and left all of his battles to Him.
William was a chef for all of his adult years. He worked for Steak-And-Ale for most of his adult career until they closed their doors for good. From there, he continued to work as a chef and help with the opening of several restaurants such as Charleston's, TGI Fridays, and Saltgrass just to name a few. About 10 years ago, he decided it was time to hang up his chef apron to focus on his own life and healing.
His wife, Louise, was his everything as they had been together since they were both just teenagers. His two daughters, Veronica and Sandra, were his pride and joy. Both of them accomplished milestones in life and education that made William as proud as any father could be. His grandchildren, however, gave him another look on life. His grandchildren brought out the youth in him. No matter how he felt, he was always up for the crazy ideas presented to him. He loved to venture out. He always felt free, as if he were a kid again, when with his grandchildren.
William was the biggest fan of OU football. He would cheer so loud while watching every game that you could hear him from outside yelling "OU Baby!". Aside from OU football, he loved OKC Thunder basketball, and FC Barcelona soccer league. To everyone's surprise, this man was also the biggest lover of heavy metal and rock music. If he wasn't inside watching sports, then you could, most certainly, find him sitting in his car with "The KATT" radio station being blasted at the highest level possible. Neighbors learned who he was really quick and always just let him be.
William, the most beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, left this world unfairly, suddenly, and unexpectedly. Our hearts are shattered and our lives have been turned upside down. William….Dad….Datha, you are missed and loved more than any words could ever describe. To "The Baddest Guy in the Barrio, The Funky Cold Medina," may you rest in paradise and please, please be waiting for us with open arms and the biggest hug and kiss when we are finally reunited again!
