Obituary

William Arthur McVey, Jr., PE (Bill), was born December 29, 1946, in Mountain Home, AR to William Arthur and Willie Symantha (Messenger) McVey. He passed away September 3, 2021, in Oklahoma City, OK. Bill graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1971 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He married his college sweetheart, Margaret Ann Morton, on August 23, 1968, and they enjoyed a wonderful life together. He was a Professional Electrical Engineer (PE) licensed in multiple states and Partner/President of PSA Consulting Engineers. He was a member of the Oklahoma Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors for three consecutive six-year terms appointed by three different governors. He is a member of the University of Arkansas College of Engineering Hall of Fame and an avid Razorback fan. Bill was an adjunct professor at OSU, OSU-OKC, OU and Canadian Valley Tech Center. He was a longtime, active member of Putnam City United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School and served as chair of the Administrative Council. Bill proudly served his country in the Army National Guard in both Arkansas and Oklahoma. Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ann; son, Brian McVey and wife Amanda; daughter, Stephanie Snyder and husband Neal; brother, Gary McVey and Kay of Poplar Bluff, MO; and seven grandchildren, Damion, Julian, Brittany, Ollie, Taylor, Abby and Fionn; and aunt, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by brother-in-law, Harry Morton and wife Mary, of Kempner, TX.Viewing will be from 9am-8pm on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service, Bethany, OK with family present from 5-7pm. Funeral Service will be at 10:00am, Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Putnam City United Methodist Church with interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. .
