William "Mark" Hyde, 66, died February 3, 2023. He was born September 12, 1956, in Oklahoma City, OK to Billy and Kitty (Lambeth) Hyde. He was the owner and operator of Hyde Auto Service since 1989. The business was started in June 1959 by his father and was the longest running full-service station in Oklahoma. Mark never met a stranger and loved people well. He was a 1974 graduate of P.C. West HS and attended SW Oklahoma State on a golf scholarship. He loved golf and won numerous prizes through the years in tournaments he played. He loved playing golf with his "golfing buddies" and had an uncanny ability to remember every single hole at any golf course (with par and yardage) that hed ever played. One of his biggest accomplishments was SEVEN hole-in-ones. He also loved OU Football, Basketball, and womens softball, watching golf, as well as rooting for all the pro teams that his beloved OU players went on to play. Mark belonged to two breakfast clubs: Business Leaders of OKC, and Metro Business Leaders of OKC. He loved being a mentor to and learned so much from his fellow members. He was a huge "tipper" and referred constantly to support everyone in the club. Mark was on talk radio with Eunice Khoury several times and enjoyed sharing his knowledge of cars and safety to people. He worked with the auto technology center at OKCCC and employed several students at various times through the years to help them get started. He was on the AC Delco National Advisory Council for several terms and helped, along with other members across the country to change things in that industry. Preceded in death by his parents and Schnauzer Laci, Mark is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Shawna, and his beloved mess of a dog, Sassafras; daughter, Heather Fowler and husband Steven; sons, William Mark Hyde II and wife Candice, and Thomas John "TJ" Shawn; daughter, Dana Burrows and husband Aaron; mother-in-law, Renella Corbin; grandchildren, Camden and Grayson Fowler, William Mark "Will" Hyde III, Cooper Ryan and Charlotte Hyde, and Henry Burrows; sisters, Beth Bridges and Lisie Hyde; brother, Allen "Butch" Yanik and wife Paula; his Aunt "Eunie" and many beloved cousins. Mark adored his nieces, Elizabeth (Itty Bit) and her fianc Caleb, Jessie Belle and his nephews, Josh (and his wife, Michelle), Jacob (Jake) and his wife Meghan, Max (and his wife Sam) who lovingly referred to him as "Uncle Goat" when they were younger and simply "G" as they got older. He couldnt have been prouder of all their success and accomplishments. His two aunts-in-law, "The Aunts", Alberta Robinson and Trish Kuschel. There are also the great nieces and nephews (who continued the tradition of calling him "G", which he absolutely loved) Rylee & Ellie, Jaxon, Major, Doc, Maverick, Maxwell, Olivia (Olive) and the newest, Benny. Mark had so many friends who might well have been family that are too numerous to count but all of you know who you are. He felt that he was a very blessed man. Lastly, one of his special interests that caused us to call him "Gary England, Jr." was his need to keep all of his immediate and extended family weather aware. The man was fascinated by weather, and he was known to tornado chase a time or two! Special people to him and who were with him throughout his entire life were Mike Disney, Scot Lee, Lyle Rhodes, David Falwell, and Chris OConner. Memorial service will be Friday, February 10, 11:00am at Mercer-Adams Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please consider Memorials in his name which may be made to Lakeview Pet Hospital Angel Fund.
