Willa Vee Norman, 81, died May 22, 2012 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26 at the Mercer-Adams Chapel with Granville Clapp officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Willa was born on October 5, 1930 in Cordell, Oklahoma to Ernest and Willa Frances (Franklin) Jones. She graduated from Cloud Chief High School in Cloud Chief, Oklahoma. Willa moved to Oklahoma City where she worked for the State of Oklahoma, General Electric, and Seagate until she retired in August of 1996. She married D.R. Denham in 1951 and had two children, Duane Royce Denham of Stillwater, OK and Janie Larre (Denham) Wythe of Bethany, OK. She had two grandchildren, Lori Dawn (Wythe) Howe of Las Cruces, NM and Christopher Dale Wythe of Bethany, OK. She was happily married to Loy Don Norman for 23 years, from 1976 until his death in August 1999. Her family remembers her as very loving and nurturing. She was central to her family. Willa created a very warm home where all were welcomed. Willa Vee was a faithful member of Cherokee Hills Church of Christ for 20 years, where she enjoyed caring for the babies in the nursery. Willa learned to sew from her mother and quilting bees held on the farm. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed a lifelong love of needlework. Willa was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Loy, brothers Myrl and Glenn, sister Corine. Willa is survived by her brother, Lavern of Cordell and her children and grandchildren. Viewing will be Friday, 9am-9pm with the family present from 5-7pm at Mercer-Adams. Those who desire may make memorials to the Alzheimer's Association or Camp Blue Haven in Las Vegas, NM.
