Weston Joseph "Wes" Evans, 41, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 6, 2023. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on June 13, 1981. He grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma and graduated from Edmond Memorial High School in 2000. After graduation, he attended both Saint Johns College campuses in Annapolis, Maryland and in Santa Fe, New Mexico, graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts. He furthered his studies by receiving in 2009 his Master of Arts in Philosophy at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, along with a forthcoming Doctor of Philosophy in History and Philosophy of Science with a minor in Cognitive Science from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. His languages and skills included formal logic and reading French and ancient Greek. His interests were many and included collecting comic books, listening to music, doing Wordle, and playing the guitar. He also was an avid fan of OU football and major league baseball.
He was dearly loved by all who knew him and, most of all, was an amazing son, brother, grandson, cousin, and friend. He is survived by his parents, Joe and Shirley; his two brothers, Clayton and Trenton; grandmother, Joanne Evans; and cousins, Tammy McManis, Thomas Badger, Karissa Kimmel, J. J. Evans, Drew Evans, Tommy Evans, and Kirk Evans. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jack and Janie Riggs, and paternal grandfather, Orville Evans. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service on Thursday, May 11th, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., with family present from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. A graveside service for the family will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 12th at Bethany Cemetery.
