Weldon Austin Sneed, 54, much loved husband, dad, Papa, son, brother, uncle and friend to many, passed away on July 19, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family, after a 3 year battle with cancer. Weldon was born in Hurst, TX on July 26, 1961, to Margie and Kenneth Sneed. He was the second of three children. The family moved to Oklahoma where Weldon attended Putnam City Schools, graduating from Putnam City West in 1979. On July 12, 1980, he married his best friend, Sandra Pershall. God blessed their marriage with a son, Benton, born in 1983, and a daughter, Linde, born in 1985. Weldon began working with his father at age 16 in the jewelry business. He continued in the jewelry business for 21 years. He has spent the last fifteen years in the transportation industry. Weldon is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sandra; son, Benton & Kristin Sneed; daughter, Linde & Mitch Vogan; six beautiful grandchildren, Gabe, Dawson, Lexi, Piper, Jeremiah and Thea. Also survived by his parents, Kenneth & Margie Sneed; sister, Aletha & Gary Pershall; brother, Tom & Polly Sneed; father-in-law, Merle Pershall; brothers-in-law, Neil & Beth Pershall and Kevin & Cara Pershall; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and other extended family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children, 3800 N. May Ave., OKC, OK 73112. A graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Frisco Cemetery, 14200 W. Britton Road, Yukon, with a memorial service following at 11:00am at Surrey Hills Baptist Church, 12421 N. Mustang Road, Yukon. Viewing will be at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home, 3925 N. Asbury Ave., Bethany, on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 from 12:00-8:00pm with family present from 5:00-8:00.
