Forever Loved, Forever Missed, Forever in our Hearts Our hearts will ache in sadness, and secret tears will flow What it meant to lose you, No one will ever know. He was born Wayne Joseph Wunsch to Marvin Louis Wunsch and Mary Elizabeth (Eberling) Wunsch on August 15, 1952 in Pasadena, Texas. Wayne lived the majority of his life in the Houston area. He graduated from Conroe High School of Conroe, Texas. In 1970, he went to work for Bill Oates & Son Arco Gas Station where he proved himself to be a hard worker as well as an eager to learn young man. When he fell for the boss' daughter, he made a career change to Brookshire Brothers Grocery so he could ask for the hand of Ms. Sue Oates in marriage. Their union was blessed with two children. In 1975, in an effort to provide better for his growing family, Wayne made another career move. Starting at $3.40 an hour, Wayne went to work for an oilfield service company which would later become Smith International. During his 32+ years at Smith, Wayne made much advancement, traveled to several foreign countries and made numerous meaningful and lifelong friendships. Through hard work and a willingness to learn and try new things, Wayne was well respected by many. Wayne married Ms. Ester Villalobos. From this union he gained a step-son and was further blessed with two more daughters. Wayne moved to Oklahoma City in 2008. And in typical "Wayne fashion" began to work hard and make new friends. Wayne helped to start and setup two shops in the Oklahoma City area. Working for a company named Amega West, he set out to hire young men he could build up and teach a lifetime career. Moving on to Technogenia Lasercarb, he established himself as well as the company even more deeply in the local oilfield community. Finally, Wayne made the move to Liquidmetal Coatings. I wondered about the soundness of this choice as the night he had his interview is also the night he had his heart attack. But Wayne was impressed with the owner and knew it was a good opportunity. I heard him tell more than one that he finally found his "dream job." He loved the work and the people and recognized that these were loving, caring people, brought into his life for a purpose. Wayne enjoyed the outdoors and hard work. During many periods of his life he worked two (or sometimes even more) jobs. He would much rather be working hard than be idle. He could figure out almost anything - even if he had to tear it apart more than once to do so. Wayne was a good man. He had lots to give and offer. He was always ready to teach if you were ready to learn. So many of us depended on him for so many things. It was a privilege to be in his life and an honor to be his wife. Wayne was preceded in death by both his parents. Wayne is survived by his wife of the home, Lou Dale "Nikki" Wunsch; daughter, Stacy Tenant and husband Russell; son, David Wunsch and fianc Denise Hoffer; step-son, John Lunar; daughters, Melissa Wunsch and Melanie Wunsch; step-son, Scott Betterton; step-mother, Grace Wunsch; brother, Glenn Wunsch and wife Fay; sister, Brenda Whittaker and husband Vernon; grandchildren, Addison Tenant, Annelise Tenant, Abbigail Wunsch and Zachery Wunsch; 3 nieces and 1 nephew and innumerable friends. The family would like to say Thank You for the enormous outpouring of sympathy. People I have never met called to offer their help, their support and their shoulders. Wayne was Truly Loved.
