Obituary

Wayne Wesley Edwards, 94, passed away in Oklahoma City on November 21, 2016. He was born in Oklahoma City on March 1, 1922 to Elbert and Etna (Groves) Edwards. Wayne married Betty Lou Vinyard on November 19, 1949 in Oklahoma City. Wayne served as a machinist in the Navy in WWII and Korea and was honorably discharged. He was a long time member of Ridgecrest United Methodist Church. Wayne retired from Cains Coffee and embarked on a second career making Wind chimes by Wayne. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou, his parents, brother, Jack Edwards and sister, Joyce Perry. Survivors include his sister, Fern Lewis of Elk City; sister- in- law, Peggy Edwards of Silsbee, Texas; nieces, Lisa Thompson and Cyndi Standifer; nephews, Greg Edwards, Steven Perry, David Perry and Mike Lewis, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of the Clinton Veterans Center, OU Medical Center, the VA Hospital and their church family for their assistance during this time. Viewing will be Wednesday November 23, 2012 at Mercer-Adams 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, OK. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Friday November 25, 2016 at Cornerstone Methodist Church, 2604 N.
