Wanda Marie Birch, 83, passed peacefully into the presence of our Lord Jesus on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. She was surrounded by family members holding her hands and listening to gospel music that she loved. Wanda was born to Thomas Zachariah Smith and Lillie Valerie Golden on July 18, 1937. She was raised as a sharecropper, then moved to Dallas where she met and married Stan Birch. They moved to Bethany in 1962. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bethany where she had many friends. Wanda loved cooking, quilting, and serving others, including cooking for countless church activities, and serving with the Disaster Relief Team up to the very end. Most of all, she loved her family and playing with her grandchildren. Wanda was preceded in death by her five sisters and one brother, and by sons, Michael and Larry. She is survived by her husband, Stan; sons, Steve (and wife, Sheila) of Gravette, AR, and Robert (and wife, May) of San Jose, CA; five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
