Walter Starry, age 73, loving husband, father, papaw, son, brother, coach and friend passed away Friday, January 12, 2018. He was born on January 24, 1944 in OKC to William and Aline Starry. Walter married the love of his life, Linda on October 6, 1967. He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Starry and his dad, William Starry. He is survived by his children, David and Michelle Starry, Stephanie Starry, and Stacy and Scott Gill; his grandchildren, Ashley, Macy, Jacob, and Hallie Starry and Kylee and Kenzie Gill; his mother, Aline Starry; brothers, Bill and Mary Lou Starry, Albert and Brenda Starry and Keith and Linda Starry; and many other relatives and friends. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Piedmont. His love and passion for coaching reached many people for the past 40 years including his current position at Southwestern Christian University. Viewing will be Sunday, January 14 from 11am-9pm with family receiving friends from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service in Bethany. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 15 at 2:00pm at the First Baptist Church of Piedmont. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Diabetes Association.
