Walter Coke Goddard was born on November 15, 1925, in Hartshorne, Oklahoma, to James F. and Linnie N. Goddard. He was one of eight siblings and grew up in a close-knit family that instilled in him the values of hard work and perseverance. Walter served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and later the U.S. Air Force, completing his high school education while in service. After his military career, he graduated from barber college and became the owner of Grandview Barber Shop, where he served the community for 35 years.

In retirement, Walter was an avid fisherman and gardener, enjoyed the outdoors, and most of all loved to cook; furthermore, he was a dedicated volunteer at Mayfair Baptist Church and Kelham Baptist Church, contributing his time and efforts to support his community. Walter was known for his warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering support for his family. His gentle spirit and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Walter is survived by his three sons, Kenneth, Glenn, and Dale, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James F. Goddard and Linnie N. Goddard, seven siblings, and his wives, Margie Goddard (2003) and Arlene Goddard (2020).

A funeral service will be held on March 28, 2025, at 2:00pm at Kelham Baptist Church, located at 3400 N. Meridian, OKC, OK. Viewing at the church will begin at 1:00pm, prior to the service. A graveside service will be precluded due to volatile weather conditions and wildfire threat.

Walter's family and friends wish to express their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support shown by Walter throughout his life. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
