Wallace R. Wally Renegar, 78, of Bethany, Oklahoma was born October 4, 1933 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He went to be with his Lord on January 19, 2012 after a tragic accident. Wally was an elder in the Church of the Nazarene for 52 years. Before his retirement, he served as senior pastor of several growing Nazarene churches, worked as the Assistant to the President of Church Relations at Southern Nazarene University, and had a brief stint as an administrator at the Nazarene Indian Bible College. Wally was very active in civic and community affairs serving as the President of the Bethany Kiwanis, involvement in the OKC Billy Graham Crusades, the director of NIROGA, and as the chaplain for the Bethany Police Department. He received numerous community and denominational awards including the NYI Timothy Award and the Leadership, Service, Achievement Award from Southern Nazarene University. Wally served in the United States Air Force in the Korean Conflict and was a registered and proud member of the Cherokee Indian Nation. He leaves behind the love of his life Waulea, his wife of 58 years, son Todd of Fontana, CA, daughter Taryn of Bethany, OK, granddaughters Megan Renegar of Fontana and Brittney Petty of Bethany, daughter-in-law Gail of Fontana, and a sister Carolyn Anderson of Phoenix Arizona. His many friends will miss his fun loving disposition, encouraging spirit, and inspiring Christian example. Visitation will be at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service from 1:00-9:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22, and 8:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. Monday, January 23. The family will be available to greet guests on Monday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene with interment following in Bethany Cemetery.
