Virginia Lee Toontas, 90, passed away March 14, 2020 in Mesa, Arizona. She was born March 28, 1929 near Gracemont, Oklahoma to Otto and Mattie Sawyer. Virginia attended Gracemont High School, later moving to Oklahoma City making this her home, where she met and married her husband, Louis James Toontas. Virginia was a loan processor for several mortgage institutions through the years, retiring from PNC Mortgage in 1994. She was a member of the Council Road Baptist Church and a member of the Women of the Moose #1369. Virginia loved people and made friends easily. She was dedicated to creating beauty all around her, not only in the flowers that she loved to work with, but also in the lives of friends and family.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Vivian Snelson.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Kay Starnes of Mesa, Arizona; 3 grandchildren, Trine and Trinton Starnes, and Robert Huckleberry; step-grandson, James Nix; nephew, David Ray Snelson and wife Renee of Oklahoma City; great-nephew, Robert Snelson; as well as cousins and a host of friends.
