Virginia Mae Walker, 94, died Tuesday the 7th of April, 2015, at Concordia Life Care Community in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born in 1921 in Pittsburg, KS, to Laurance Derby and Nellie Parsons Thomas. In the 1960's, she worked as a bookkeeper at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. In the 1970's, she became the Office Manager for the Oklahoma City office of General American Insurance, where she worked until her retirement. Virginia loved to cook, enjoyed good food, and was always ready for socializing with friends. She had a wonderful smile that became the hallmark of her personality and a testament to her great faith in Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 48 years, Gerald G. Walker, a second husband, Joyal Dunford, a sister, Mary Devers, and two brothers, Warden and Charles Thomas. She is survived by her son, Keith G. Walker, of Scottsdale, AZ; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces who brought great joy to her later years. Memorial donations can be made to Mercy Hospice, 4401 W.
