Virginia Ellen Johnson Cato, 93, (also known as Grandmother Ginny) of Oklahoma City, died January 12, 2023. She was born January 28, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio to Walter Gerald Johnson and Agatha Claudia Moslander Johnson. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1946. Virginia took classes at vocational school and also attended classes offered while working at the Oklahoma Tax Commission. She was a member of Ridgecrest Methodist Church, Tax Commission Retirees, Capitol Hill Alumni Association, Woodson Senior Group, and Posse at OSU.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard; brothers, Neal Wayne Johnson and Robert Johnson; sister-in-law, Dot Johnson and grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
She is survived by her children, Clifford Cato and Carol Cato; daughter-in-law, Rosemary Cato; grandchildren, Mark Cato, Jennifer Garrison, and husband Michael, Deanna Eidson and husband Chris, Erin Dibble, and Brandon Cato and wife Katy; and great-grandchildren, Conner, Brynlee, Mya, Hux, Rowen, Micah and Isabelle.
Besides her family, Virginias joy in life was her dog, Tinker, and her friend, David. Virginias family wishes to express their thanks to her careegivers for their support.
Viewing will be at Mercer Adams Funeral Service on Sunday, January 15 from 11:00am to 8:00pm and at Sunny Lane Funeral Home Chapel in Del City, OK on Monday, January 16 at 1:00pm. Under the direction of Mercer-Adams Funeral Service, graveside services will at 2:00pm in Sunny Lane Cemetery.
