Virginia (Schuster) Brashear was born in Russell, Oklahoma to Samuel and Fay Schuster. She grew up on the family farm and attended Central Vue High School and Oklahoma State University. After graduating from OSU, she lived at the YWCA and worked at Tinker AFB. She married her late husband, Donald Brashear, a civil engineer, in Oklahoma City, December 9, 1961. That same year the family settled in western Oklahoma City, near Bethany, where they lived for more than 40 years. In 2010, Virginia moved to Maryland to live with her daughter Kirsten and family. Since 2014, Virginia lived at the Arbor House Reminisce Center in Norman where she received Alzheimers care. Virginia was a loving mother and homemaker. She loved gardening, especially raising day lilies, and oversaw the family wheat farm in Russell. A dedicated Christian, Virginia was a member of Bethany Church of Christ, then University Parkway Church of Christ in MD. She also devoted much of her time caring for the elderly, especially her mother, Fay Schuster. She enjoyed participating in church activities, visiting friends and helping out widows in the church. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Donald (1992). Survivors include her daughter, Crystal Brewster and her husband, Keith Brewster, of Norman, daughter, Kirsten Reilly and her husband, Sean Reilly of Hunt Valley, Maryland, and granddaughter, Megan Reilly.
