Vincent E. (Vinny) Rogers of Oklahoma City died peacefully on Tuesday, August 30. He was born in South Gate, CA to Carthol and Evelyn Rogers and was one of three children. Vinny graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army Reserve. He lived most of his life in San Diego, CA and returned to Oklahoma City to be near his family. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, Evelyn Rogers; sister Carol Lynn Roberts; brother Roger Rogers and wife Lynne; nephews Scott Roberts and wife Diane, and Christian Rogers and wife Stefanie; nieces Lynn Roberts, and Tyler Rogers and husband Ean; and many great-nieces and nephews. Visitation is Thursday, September 1, 2011 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home in Bethany, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 2, 2011 at Sunny Lane Cemetery with Reverend Keith Cressman officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mobile Meals of Oklahoma County.
