Vicky Jean Sowders, age 70, of Bethany, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in her home on June 28, 2026.

Vicky was born on February 21, 1956, to Orbin and Mary Adams at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. She went on to build a dedicated, impressive career, working as a billing analyst at AAR for 32 years, where her hard work and loyalty were deeply valued.

Above all else, Vicky was fiercely devoted to her family. Not only was she a loving wife, but she was a deeply cherished mother and a doting Granny. Her absolute favorite way to spend her time was with the people she loved. She leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful, vibrant memories: days spent at the lake, riding motorcycles, playing soccer, traveling, shopping, and enthusiastically watching Flattrack Motorcycle racing, NASCAR and OU Sooner football. Yet, some of the most meaningful moments were the simplest ones—gathering everyone together for a normal Sunday family dinner.

Vicky is survived by her beloved husband of the home, Dennis Sowders; her children, Nicalee Sowders, Bret Sowders, and stepson, Nickalas Sowders; her adored grandchildren, Jada, Malak, and Mason; her father, Orbin Adams; and her brother, Scott Adams.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Dean Adams.

A service to celebrate Vicky's life and legacy will be held on Saturday, July 18, at 11:00am at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service Chapel in Bethany, Oklahoma.
