Obituary

Vickie Lynn (Jones) Brown passed away June 17, 2012 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. Dr. David Downs will be officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Oklahoma City. There will be a visitation held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19 at Mercer Adams Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the Vickie L. Brown Nursing Scholarship at Southern Nazarene University. Vickie was born December 13, 1953 in Little Rock, Arkansas to W.P. (Pete) and Doris Jones. She graduated from Little Rock Central High School and then attended Southern Nazarene University where she met and married her husband, Mark Brown on October 17, 1975. Vickie was a vital part of Mark's ministry to youth and college students. She enjoyed making wedding cakes and opened her home to many people for food and hospitality. She was involved for years with Baseball Chapel in New York and Oklahoma City. While living in New York, Vickie was an EMT and was a volunteer firefighter. Vickie was the Director of the Student Health Center at Southern Nazarene University. She is survived by her father W.P. (Pete) Jones of Benton, Arkansas, her husband Mark of Oklahoma City, daughter Julie and husband Lonny Clemmons of Sherwood, AR., daughter Jana and husband Michael Johnston of Carrollton, TX., son Steven Brown of Oklahoma City, son Shaun Brown and fiance Lacy Ward of Oklahoma City, daughter Sasha and her husband Sam Francis of San Antonio, TX, sister Debbie Brown of Benton, AR., sister Lisa and her husband Jon Fair of Woodbridge, VA., and six grandchildren: Caleb, Christian, Cayden, and Cody Clemmons, and Alex and Samantha Francis. She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Jones and brothers Steve Jones and Danny Jones. Church Service Wednesday, June 20, 2012 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Bethany First Church of the Nazarene 6789 N.W. 39th Expressway Bethany, OK 73008 The family will receive guests from 6:00-8:00PM on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service.
