Verna (Mitchell) Osborne of Oklahoma City went home to heaven on Friday morning, December 30, 2011. She was born October 27, 1909 to parents, Jacob and Mary Etta Mitchell, near Prague, Oklahoma. Her parents and three siblings preceded her in death. She was married to John Osborne for nearly 62 years before his death in 1994. An elegant Christian lady in the best sense of that word, she loved and cared for her family and was faithful and active in her church, Putnam City Baptist, as long as she was able. Her family thanks Alleve Hospice and A Better Way of Care Senior Care for their loving help and attention during her last two weeks. Survivors include her son, Don Osborne and wife Wanda, and her daughter, Sharon Burton and husband Jerry. She also leaves four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren (with another expected in the spring), and three great-great-grandchildren, along with a number of loving nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 31, at Mercer-Adams Chapel in Bethany, Oklahoma.
