Obituary

Velena Sue Stout, 86, went to her heavenly home on December 27, 2018 in Oklahoma City. She was born October 25, 1932 in Oklahoma City, OK to Cecil McCourry and Maude "Honey" McCourry. She married Daniel C. Stout on August 1, 1950. Sue was a 1950 graduate of Classen High School. She was a member of the Comet Pep Club, the Merry Maids and was the lead singer of the Sooners High School Dance Band. After graduation and marriage, Sue worked for John A Brown and then Central Oklahoma Medical Group as a supervisor. She taught Bible school at Putnam City Christian Church and instilled a love of God in her children. She spent the majority of her adult life as a successful real estate investor and enjoyed canvassing local neighborhoods in search of her next investment. Sue loved her four children, John, Greg, Sherri and Lorri. She provided a comforting ear to listen and was the first to offer sound advice to all. She loved her grandchildren and relished the opportunity to attend Peyton and Tylers many activities. She enjoyed long drives, big band music, league bowling, politics, the beauty of a sunset, bird watching, OU/Dallas Cowboys football, traveling and spending time with her many friends and family. She was a doting mother to her many pets, often taking in stray or abandoned animals and giving them a loving home. She loved the holidays with family and always prepared a bountiful feast that family looked forward to year round. Sue was a devoted parent, generous grandparent, and made friends wherever she went. Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Daniel C. Stout, and two children, John Stout and Greg Stout. Survivors include her daughters, Sherri Stout of Oklahoma City, Lorri Garner and husband, James of Bethany; four grandchildren, Bruce Stout of Harrah, Brent Stout of Edmond, Peyton Swadley and husband Koltan of Bethany, and Tyler Garner of Bethany. Services will be held Saturday, December 29 at 2pm in the Mercer-Adams Chapel. Funeral Service Mercer-Adams Chapel Saturday, December 29, 2018 2:00 PM 3925 N. Asbury Bethany, OK 73008
