Ula Lucille Loomis, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to her heavenly home on July 26, 2009 surrounded by family and loved ones. Barney, as her friends and husband David called her, was born on December 2, 1910 in Edina, Missouri and lived most of her adult life in Dallas and Oklahoma City. She married David Loomis, her love at first sight on September 30, 1933. They recently celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary and their lifelong romance will always be an inspiration to others. She and her husband were charter members of the Central Church of the Nazarene in Tulsa, OK and members of the Central Church of the Nazarene in Dallas, Texas for 21 years. After moving to Oklahoma City, they became devoted members at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene faithfully attending church and Sunday school until she became ill. Ula lived her life always serving the Lord and spreading her love of Christ through her Sunday school teachings. Ula was also a gifted seamstress, cook and hostess and she always loved to entertain with her fine china. She gave generously and was committed to serving others, especially her family and her grandchildren. Ula was predeceased by her parents Taylor and Lilly Mae Hudson, brothers, sisters, and son James Loomis. She is survived by husband David; daughter Sarah Mincey; son-in-law Bill Mincey; daughter-in-law Linda Loomis; granddaughters: Brittany McCoy and husband Scott, Brooke Oliver and husband Ran, Stacie Mills and husband Greg; and Sherry Loomis; grandson: Bill Mincey, Jr. and wife Lauren and 3 great-grandsons. We will cherish memories of her smile and miss her charming laughter. Special thanks to Milty Brasher, a compassionate caregiver who has helped us in these tough times.
