Timothy Joel Griffith, 82 of Yukon, OK, went to be with his Lord, January 19, 2018. He was born in Sophia, WV, in 1935, to Homer and Inez Griffith. He was the fifth of six children. As a young man, Tim wanted to do something other than work in the coal mines, so his parents enrolled him in a Bible School work/study program in Wisconsin. This is where he met the love of his life, Mary Ellen Archambeau.
Tim moved to Oklahoma to attend Bethany Nazarene College and married Mary in 1956. Tim worked as a teacher at Jackson Junior High for a year and then took a job at the Western Electric (Lucent) plant in Oklahoma City. Tim worked in various departments, but spent most of his 28 years at the plant as an engineer working on the Electronic Switching System. In 1986, Tim was selected as "Engineer of the Year" for his efforts to significantly reduce manufacturing costs at the plant. After his retirement from Lucent, Tim decided to go back to work and enjoyed a few years at the OK Turnpike Authority and the FAA.
After the death of his wife Mary, Tim moved to Spanish Cove to be around a number of friends from his church family at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, which they had attended since 1953. While at Spanish Cove, he met and married Ruby Incerto. Together they sang and enjoyed time with friends at Spanish Cove.
Tim is survived by his wife, Ruby Griffith; his sister, Delphine Graham (Sophia, WV); his son, Paul Griffith and wife Terrie; daughter, Sandy Orchard; grandson, Daniel Griffith and wife Heather; granddaughter, Melissa Edgmon and husband Ryan; three great-grandchildren, Brooke, Carter, and Zoe Griffith; and many friends at Spanish Cove.
