Thomas
Minard
Mar 21, 1943 — Aug 8, 2024
Thomas Lee Minard, whom we all came to know as Tommy, 81 years old, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 8, 2024 in Oklahoma City.
Tommy was born on March 21, 1943 in Del City, Oklahoma. He was an avid fisher and hunter from an early age and took a great interest in the outdoors. He also took on a great interest for livestock and agriculture which led him to attend Oklahoma State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Ag Education.
After obtaining his degree, he spent some time educating youth in the world of agriculture before taking up an interest in the nutrition side of livestock animals. Tommy then created Cimarron Nutrition, a business dedicated towards amplifying the health and nutrition of the livestock industry. He was very dedicated in his mission of helping create high quality animals for local farmers, ranchers and individuals taking part in FFA and 4-H.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Allen and Helen Minard; 2 brothers, Kenny and Gary Minard; and his daughter, Kari.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Minard, whom he married in 1985 and spent 39 years with; son, Martin Minard; son, Ryan Minard and his wife Wanda and their 3 children, Christian, Callen and Caitlin; 2 great-grandchildren, Presley and Sawyer; and stepson, Michael Burdick.
Tommy was a very dedicated friend who never met a stranger. He leaves behind many great friends and colleagues, which to him were considered family.
Throughout his life, Tommy was known for his unwavering dedication to everything he set his heart on, whether it was mentoring his sons, showing up at his grandchildren's events, or planting flowers for his wife to ensure she always woke up to a beautiful sight. Tommy's love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. His vibrant personality made him a friend to everyone he met, and his big-hearted nature was felt by all.
One of Tommy's greatest passions was the outdoors. He loved spending time with his closest friends, sons and grandchildren. Sharing his true passion with the people he loved deeply lit up his soul. As an avid hunter and fisherman, he found solace in the early morning stillness of the land and the gentle ripple of the lake. He often said that these moments brought him closer to God, reflecting his deep and abiding faith. Tommy's belief in giving back was evident in his tireless support of local charities, where he volunteered his time and resources, often without fanfare or recognition.
He had a knack for turning ordinary moments into lifelong memories, whether it was teaching his kids and grandkids how to cast a fishing line, shoot a gun, use a pocket knife, or telling stories of his favorite old west history.
Tommy's legacy of love, faith, and generosity will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know him. His family takes comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on in the lives he touched and the values he instilled in them.
