Obituary

Thomas A. Galloway was born June 30, 1935, in Wichita, Kansas, to George F. and Mae Harris Galloway. He attended schools in Wichita and proudly attended the University of Kansas. He was a loyal Kansas Jayhawks supporter. Toms first employment was at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita. For the next five years he was employed by various aircraft manufacturing companies. Tom proudly returned to Boeing to serve four years at Cape Canaveral, Florida, during NASAs trials to meet President Kennedys declaration of a date for U.S. astronauts to reach the moon. Following the United States successful first moon landing, Tom became employed by Rockwell General Aviation in Bethany, Oklahoma, which later became Gulfstream Aircraft Manufacturing. His employment was always as an artist drawing precise, technical, fourth-dimensional, and to scale, pictures of airplane parts (prior to use of computers). In 1978, Tom married Dixie Thompson Roth and gained two step-sons, Brian A. Roth and Barry A. Roth. Toms hobbies included painting in oil and water color, as well as wood carving. He was an amateur gardener, who designed and built a greenhouse without any assistance. Tom assisted his wife, Dixie, in many Republican activities over a 30-year period. They traveled to west Caribbean areas and Alaska by cruise ships. In 2001, Tom and Dixie toured Greece and Turkey to visit sites where St. Paul traveled on one of his evangelistic journeys. Tom was a friend of Bill for 50 years. He was a proud member of St. Lukes United Methodist Church and Upper Room Sunday School Class. Tom is survived by his wife of 39 years, Dixie; step-son, Brian A. Roth; and sister-in-law, Shirley Thompson, OKC. Services will be Thursday, February 15, 3:00pm at St. Lukes United Methodist Church, Watchorn Chapel, with interment in Rose Hill Burial Park. Viewing will be one hour prior to service in Watchorn Chapel. Memorial service will also be held for son, Barry Andrew Roth in conjunction with Toms service. Barry passed away on October 2, 2017. Funeral Service Thursday, February 15, 2018 03:00 PM St. Luke's United Methodist Church 222 N.W. 15th St. Oklahoma City, OK
