Obituary

Thomas Alexander Fleming, born February 14, 1956, in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, concluded his earthly journey following a short but devastating illness on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. Tom was predeceased by his beloved mother, Josephine Fleming. After her passing, he lovingly and dutifully cared for his father, Richard Fleming, who resided at Saint Anne's until his death. He was also predeceased by his brother, Matthew Fleming; his father-in-law, Jimmie Cornelius, Sr.; and his brother-in-law, Jimmy Lee Cornelius, Jr.

He is survived by loving wife, Lisa Fleming; his son, James Darrin Foreman; his son, Carson Alexander Fleming (Morgan Hughes); his brothers, Jimmy Fleming (Candy), Bryan Fleming (Tammy), Francis Fleming, Eddie Fleming (Xiang); and his close friend, Charles Moore (Stormy), whom he considered a brother. Additionally, he leaves behind his cherished mother-in-law, Luella Cornelius; his sister-in-law, Tammy Knapp (Jeff); his brother-in-law, Larry Cornelius (Sonja); and many loving nieces, nephews, and great-nephews. Tom maintained very special relationships with his aunts and uncles.

As the eldest of six sons, Tom took on adult-level responsibilities at a very young age. He was a dedicated Boy Scout and worked at Boy Scout camps for three summers during high school. His talent in debate earned him a scholarship at Central State University (UCO), where he obtained a BA in Communications. Tom held numerous professional certifications in the safety field and had a two-decade career with the State of Oklahoma, where he worked in the Central Services Division and served on the division's Safety Committee. He spent the past two decades as a safety manager and most recently as a safety consultant at Anderson Safety in Yukon, Oklahoma. His clients highly valued his extensive OSHA knowledge, and he mentored many early career professionals.

Tom's passion for golf took him around the world. He most enjoyed playing the local municipal courses with his best friend, Keith Turner. His golf adventures began on his honeymoon, when his devoted wife, Lisa, gifted him with a round at Pebble Beach. Notably, he played at Torrey Pines in California, the Doral in Florida, TPC in Scottsdale, Kohler in Wisconsin, and ultimately, St. Andrews in Scotland while celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary. Tom was also an accomplished skier, enjoying slopes around the country and sharing many excursions to the greens and slopes with his sons.

Tom's life was a testament to his dedication to faith and family. He was a devout Catholic who treasured his service as an usher at The Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church. He was beloved by parishioners for his kind and gregarious personality. He constantly shook hands and exchanged the sign of peace with everyone he could. He loved being the go-to chef and host of family and friends get-togethers, often spending days preparing fine meats and meals for everyone to enjoy.

A rosary will be held at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service Chapel, 3925 N. Asbury Avenue, Bethany, on Friday at 6:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of life gathering at the Fleming's home. The funeral will take place at The Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, 7336 W. Britton Road, on Saturday, March 15 at 11:00 a.m.

May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
