Thomas Dean Baty was born January 25, 1962 in Tulsa, OK. He was the third son of Guy Willard Baty and Barbara Sue Randolph. His school years were mostly in Sallisaw and Ft. Smith. The years spent with both Grandmas down the street and Aunts, Uncles and cousins nearby were the happiest. He loved riding around the town of Sallisaw and swimming everyday in the summer. Thomas loved the days of going to the stockcar races with his Dad and riding motorcycles. He would only ride in an airplane if his Dad was the pilot.
Thomas moved to Oklahoma City in 1979 to live and work. He started his construction career digging ditches and eventually became a heavy equipment operator and superintendent. The last 25 years he worked as superintendent for the utilities side of Wynn Construction. He always took pride in doing the job right and giving a good days work for his wages.
He loved all sports. Most especially NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt. OU football-when they won! He was an avid golfer, loved being at the lake, fishing with his brother and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Thomas was a good neighbor. Always willing to help when asked. He tried to see the best in everyone. He believed in being prepared for a job. If something was broken his boys would say-"Just ask Dad, He can fix anything!"
Because he worked out of town on many jobs, he was always glad to pull up in his driveway and be at home. He was a loving husband and father and worked hard every day until the end.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kathy Baty of the home; son and daughter-in-law Tommy and Abigail Baty of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; son, Todd Baty of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Danny Baty of Muldrow, OK; sister, Gila Brandenberger and husband Travis of Bethany,OK; sister, Hollie and Steve Bankston, Russellville, AR; and brother, Jerry Baty of Wausau, WI.
