Obituary

Thelma "Louise" Mariott, age 94, passed peacefully on March 20, 2026.

Born on February 4, 1932, Louise grew up in the Gypsy, Oklahoma area where she learned the values that would guide her throughout her life—faith, family, and quiet strength. She carried those values with her always, living a life rooted deeply in her love for God and her devotion to those around her.

Louise was a woman of steadfast faith, keeping God first in all things. Her belief was not only something she spoke of, but something she lived daily—with kindness, humility, and a gentle but enduring strength that touched everyone who knew her.

She shared a lifelong love with her husband, Howard Mariott, whose passing left a space she carried with grace and resilience. In her later years, Louise lived with her daughter and son-in-law in Arkansas before settling in Yukon, Oklahoma, where she continued to be surrounded by the love of her family.

Louise's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her daughter, Luann Richardson and son-in-law, Don Richardson; her five grandchildren, Deana Bunch, Adam Sparks, Sara Richardson, James Sparks, and Casey Richardson; 16 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Each generation carries forward her legacy of love, faith, and strength.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard Mariott; her parents; three sisters; and three brothers.

Louise will be remembered not only for her faith, but for her kindness in the smallest, most meaningful moments. She always had a kind word for everyone she met—especially delivery and service workers, including what she fondly called "the Amazon man." She made people feel seen and appreciated in ways that stayed with them.

To her family and friends, she gave something even more lasting. Whether in person or over the phone, she never ended a conversation without saying, "I love you." It was her constant, her signature, and her gift.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Adam Sparks and James Sparks; grandsons-in-law, Jhandonte Bunch, Tracy Hughes, and Chris Acker; and great-grandsons, Jackson Richardson and Patrick Richardson.

Viewing at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 12:00-8:00 p.m. with family present from 5:00-7:00pm. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Louise will be deeply missed and forever cherished. Her life was a testament to faith, love, and the quiet power of kindness—and her words, "I love you," will echo in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
