Born in 1920 in Bui Chu, Vietnam, Thai Van Pham joined the love of his life, Ngoan Nguyen, in heaven on October 23, 2022 at the age of 102. Thai and Ngoan married in 1945 in Bui Chu. Their first child, Thai Pham, died at three months old. With the division of Vietnam at the 17th parallel in 1954, the family moved south with their second child. Thai and his family established their home in Phuoc Tinh where Ngoan bore him six more children. Thai provided for his family as a home health provider in their small community, and Ngoan managed their general store on the first floor of their two-story home. With the fall of Saigon on April 30, 1975, Thai brought his wife and children to the United States of America. The Pham family started out in Colby, Kansas in 1975 sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. David and Sharan Pittser, Mr. and Mrs. Joel and Sharon Kriss, and Mr. and Mrs. Mel Martinek. Eighteen months later, they moved to Oklahoma City. Thais favorite everyday hobbies were watching WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) and listening to the Vietnamese radio station 24/7. He loved discussing politics and talking about the weather. Thai and Ngoan lived for their seven children (Hang Pham, Dao Huynh, Tuan Pham, Sy Pham, My Nguyen, Thuy Goodman, and Phuoc Pham), nineteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, many Godchildren, and many more family and friends. Ngoan preceded Thai in death nine years ago on October 8, 2013. People knew Thai for his generosity in his church and his community in Bui Chu and Phuoc Tinh, Vietnam, and Oklahoma City. Prayer services will be Thursday and Friday, 6:45pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial with be Saturday, October 29, 12:00pm at St. Andrew Dung-Lac Catholic Church in Oklahoma City. .
