Obituary

Teddi Kay (Winters) Cox, 65 of Oklahoma City passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at her family home surrounded by loved ones following a brief illness. She was born on November 21, 1957 in Oklahoma City, OK to Bill L. and Patsy A. (White) Winters. Teddi attended Putnam City Schools and was a 1976 graduate of Putnam City High School. On August 7, 1976, Teddi married Danny Cox and they established their first home in Stillwater, OK while Danny attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at Oklahoma State University. In 1980, they welcomed their first son, Chad, followed by a daughter, Casey in 1982. In 1983, the family moved to Plano, TX and opened their first veterinary hospital. In 1990, their family was completed when their son, Chase, was born. Danny and Teddi were divorced in 2000 but remained friends and devoted parents and grandparents to their children and grandchildren. Teddi had said she knew her purpose in life was to be a Mom and Grammy and she excelled at both. Her family was her entire world and she never wasted a moment to show how much she loved and cherished them. Teddi truly enjoyed family vacations and holiday gatherings, but when asked her favorite moments in life, she would say it was watching her children and grandchildren play sports. She was also an animal lover and would have rescued every stray if she could. Teddi was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents; parents, Bill and Patsy Winters; aunts, Reba Jean Watt and Mary Adams; and son-in-law, Jason Carroll. She is survived by her 3 children; son, Chad (Brooke) Cox of Bartlesville, OK; daughter, Casey Carroll of Gainesville, TX; and son, Chase (Becca) Cox of McKinney, TX; 5 grandchildren, Dakota, Parker, Wyatt, Caden and Mason; sister, Lee Ann (Mark) Glass of Oklahoma City, OK; and her beloved furbabies, Zoey and Taco.
