Syble Wooldridge George was born September 12, 1931 to Flossie Carter Wooldridge and Walker Russell Wooldridge in Belzoni, Oklahoma near Antlers, OK. She graduated from Antlers High School in May, 1949, later attending Southern Nazarene University where she received her degree in May 1953. She married Lloyd Cantley George in August 1952. She went on to receive her Masters Degree from Oklahoma University in 1956. She taught school for 33 years in Oklahoma City except for one year teaching in Pago Pago American Samoa. She and her husband went on many mission trips for their church including Mexico, Zimbabwe, Haiti, Venezuela, Guatemala, England, Argentina and Brazil. Syble is survived by her sister, Sonya Ammerer; nephews, Colton and Court Ammerer; sons, David and wife Debbie, and Stephen T. George and wife Susan; grandchildren, Alisa, Aaron, and Stephen L. George and wife Julie, and great-granddaughter, Aava George; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Syble loved and served her Lord and church. She will join her husband, Cantley, who transferred to Heaven in 2005. Funeral services will be Monday, May 3, 2021 at 10:00am at Mercer-Adams Chapel. .
