Susan "Susie" Lee
Opp
Jan 11, 1958 — Mar 29, 2026
Susan Lee Opp, 68, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born on January 11, 1958, in Denver, Colorado, to Robert Bodin and Carrie Lee Eckholm. Susie was the third of four children, joining her siblings Sheri, Bob, and Ron. She met her high school sweetheart, David Opp, at Northwest Baptist Church, and they were married on July 26, 1980, in Oklahoma City. Susie graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and went on to dedicate 26 loyal years as a teacher with Putnam City Schools before retiring.
Susie is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, David Opp; her daughter, Alayna; her son, Kyle; her daughter-in-law, Mandy; and her two cherished grandchildren, Breeland and Bex, who brought her immense joy. She is also survived by her brother, Bob and his wife Cindy; her brother, Ron; and niece, Tiffany and her husband Charlie, along with their two sons, Caleb and Logan.
Susie was a devoted follower of Christ and lived her life in honor of the Lord. She primarily attended Council Road Baptist Church, where she formed many special, lifelong friendships. Susie adored her family and found her greatest joy in being surrounded by those she loved. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud "Lolli," whose family meant everything to her. She had a heart for serving others and quietly stepped in whenever there was a need. Holidays were especially meaningful to Susie, as she delighted in making them special and memorable for her family. She found peace working in her beautiful flower beds, decorating her home for each season, and thoughtfully redecorating as each holiday passed. She cherished lunches with friends and treasured the relationships she built throughout her life. Susie also had a deep passion for teaching. During her career, she formed many lasting friendships and was often a mentor to fellow educators, encouraging and uplifting those around her. Her kindness, warmth, and servant's heart left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
