Stuart Lee McCollom, 64, of Oklahoma City, passed away May 13th, 2011 in Oklahoma City. He was born July 23rd, 1946 in Mayfield, Kentucky, to Stuart and Dora Jean McCollom. He was raised in Ardmore, Oklahoma and graduated from Ardmore High School. He attended the University of Central Oklahoma where he obtained a Bachelors degree in English. He served in the Navy as a Corpsman during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged in 1971, he returned to Oklahoma and began working for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services where he was most recently the Inspector General for Audit & Review. Stuart enjoyed his work, but he also liked to travel and visit casinos. He liked collecting windup toys, watching movies, musicals and plays, listening to music, and being a lifelong OU football fan. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Madalyn; his sons Brian and Christopher; brothers, David (twin brother) and Steve; Sister Edy Bauer; grandchildren Madeline & Jerah Selig; and numerous nephews and nieces. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation in Oklahoma City or the charity of your choice. Services will be Monday May 16th, 1:30 pm at Mercer Adams Funeral Service in Bethany, Oklahoma.
