Steven Curtis Love passed away November 6, 2022 at age 73 in Bethany, OK surrounded by his family. Steve was born on February 27, 1949 to Ralph Kenneth and Lola Berniece Love in Ponca City, OK. He attended Ponca City Schools through high school when he graduated in 1967. Steve continued his education at Northwestern College before graduating from Oklahoma Baptist University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. Steve was a lifelong educator, teaching first in the Yukon Public School system, Draughon's Business College and Lucent Technologies. Steve continued his pursuit of education by completing his Master's Degree in Business Management from Southern Nazarene University in 1999. Steve had a passion for helping people in every way and finished his professional career with the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority. Steve met Gayle Bloom in the summer of 1973 and knew that she was the one he wanted to spend his life with, marrying her in December of that year, ultimately celebrating 48 years of marriage. In 1987, Steve became a dad when he and Gayle adopted Erik in January and later Michelle in September. Steve was very active in both of his children's lives, and never missed a performance or event that they were involved in, and you couldn't talk with him for more than a few minutes before he was telling you about what his kids were doing and how proud he was of them. Steve had many passions in life, but the one that most remember him for was his unmatched love of photography, starting at a young age and even setting up a full darkroom in his bedroom. Every holiday, family event, or even wedding, you could find Steve behind a camera. Something that Steve could be very private about was the struggles he had throughout his life. From a car wreck that nearly paralyzed him to a 14-year battle with cancer, Steve was resilient and never gave up, putting everything he had into overcoming his ailments. The entire family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Integris Cancer Institute for supporting Steve through his battle with cancer. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Kenneth Love; his mother, Lola Berniece Love; and his sister, Janiece Gelino. Steve is survived by his wife, Gayle; son, Erik Love and his wife Nicole of Oklahoma City; daughter, Michelle Love of Edmond; grandchildren, Beatrice Love, Isaac Love, Hannah Love, Seraphina Love, Abigail Love, and Felix Love; and brothers, Mark Love of Edmond and Douglas Love of Ponca City. .
