Steven L. Curtis went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ Sunday morning, November 29, 2020 after a hard and strong fight against COVID. Steve was born in Oklahoma City on April 21, 1963 to Marvin and Christine Curtis.
Steve married his high school sweetheart, Catherine Fowler in 1983. He went on to earn a business degree from the University of Oklahoma. He worked for the Oklahoma Publishing company for 23 years and most recently worked for Britton Lumber Supply.
When his kids were younger, he enjoyed coaching soccer, T-ball, baseball, and softball. He was a wonderful role model to so many on and off the field. In more recent times Steve loved to travel with his loving wife, Cathy, and their closest friends. He loved game systems and gadgets. He was always up to date with the newest technology. He loved watching and spoiling his grandkids any chance he got. He loved grilling and cooking, coffee, and most of all - anytime he got to spend with his family.
Steve is survived by his wife, Cathy Curtis; daughter, Jennifer Koos and son-in-law, Caleb Koos; son, Austin Curtis and daughter-in-law, Morgan Curtis; grandsons, Luke and Logan Koos; parents, Marvin and Christine Curtis; siblings, Cathy (Don) Wolever, Gloria (Darrell) Dutcher, Michael (Lisa) Curtis, Amy (Brad) Hoffman; mother-in-law, Dovie Fowler; sister-in-law, Janet (Jay) Barnes; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him so much.
Steve was such a light to so many people. He had the biggest, most loving heart and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He gave the best, biggest hugs. He was the best husband, father, father-in-law, brother, and grandpa. He will be greatly missed by so many. However, we are comforted knowing he gave his life to the Lord and we will one day be reunited with him. What a glorious day that will be!
Our family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses at the Integris Portland COVID ICU. They took amazing care of him making sure he was comfortable, doing everything they could think of to save him, all while updating our family and putting their own health at risk.
Due to COVID and how it has affected our family so much already, there will only be a private, family service. We hope in the future when times are safer to have a big celebration of life to honor him.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Childrens Center Rehabilitation Hospital in Bethany, Oklahoma.
