Steven Dean Barnes passed away in his home on December 4, 2023. He was born July 12, 1938 to Dean and June (Osman) Barnes in Ellington, MO.

He worked for many years as a Xerox technician and was also an engineer for Abbott Laboratories where he eventually retired. Steven was an accomplished conservationist and sportsman. He excelled at all mediums of fabrication including being a master gunsmith. He was a proud veteran of the National Guard, a longtime Mason and a member of St. John's Episcopal church.

Steven was preceded in death by his brother, Dalton Barnes. He is survived by his longtime partner, Gail Dyer; son, Steven Barnes, Jr.; daughter, Sandra Johnson; brother, Lonnie Barnes; sisters, Devona Jensen, Gloria Orr and Judith Perry; and three grandchildren, Elana, Alexander and Logan.

Viewing at Mercer-Adams will be Friday from 10:00am-8:00pm. Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 9th at Mercer-Adams Chapel.
