Obituary

Stefana (Taffy) Williams (Sotelo), 71, died from Congestive Heart Failure on July 2, 2022 at home in Oklahoma City. She was born March 14, 1951 in Three Rivers, Texas, the daughter of Santos Sotelo and Francisca Sotelo (Rodriquez). Taffy graduated from Three Rivers HS in 1969 and went on to Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She had two marriages; Stephen Williams 1973 to 1997 and Larry Johnson 1998 to present. Most of her career she worked as a Private Duty Nurse as a Nanny until her health began to decline in 2014. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Helen Trevino, and brother, Gabby. She is survived by daughter, Yolanda Mackey and husband Brian; 4 grandchildren: Caleb, Joshua, Noah, and Grace Mackey; 5 brothers: Santos, Layo, Mingy, Eloy and David Sotelo; 2 sisters: Chana Beserra, and Celia Garcia; cousin, Anna Cadena; 4 stepchildren: David, Jeffrey, Lisa Johnson, and Jennifer Wilson; 4 step-grandchildren: Sarah, Elizabeth, Jacob Johnson, and Corbin Wilson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Taffy enjoyed watching movies, dining out and visiting friends and family. She was known to frequent thrift stores, pawn shops, Goodwill and Salvation Army and had the knack for purchasing the perfect gifts that everyone cherished. She was always cheerful, had a positive attitude, a smile on her face and never met a stranger. She earned an excellent reputation as a Nurse Nanny and came highly recommended for taking care of children, usually working for Doctors and Attorneys. She loved every child she took care of and likewise they loved her. She wouldn't leave the children for more money; she was there to stay until they grew up and no longer needed her or moved away. She was close to friends and family, always in contact with them and known for sending everyone Christmas, Birthday, Valentines Day, Anniversary and Thank You cards, normally using about 200 postage stamps a year. Being bilingual she taught a couple of people from Mexico enough English to the point they became United States Citizens. She touched so many lives and many tears were shed when she had to leave us and will be truly missed. We could write a large book with all the little funny stories people tell about the things said and done together with her.
