Sidney 'Sid' Louis Schroeder, 67, died on May 27, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born February 10, 1951 in OKC. Sid was truly a farmer at heart. As a child he enjoyed raising chickens and continued to raise livestock throughout his adult life. He raised, traded and custom hauled hay from Texas to Nebraska. He also raised wheat, hay, and hogs. He custom combined from Texas to Montana. He kept a large vegetable garden for neighbors, friends and family. He was a true steward of the land and a conservationist. He worked as a custom painting contractor and at Wiley Post as an aircraft mechanical assistant. Sid attended Taft Jr. High, Northwest Classen High School class of '69, SWOSU and OSU. As a devout Lutheran, he ministered to older friends and family and was dedicated to his parents, Harold and Doris Schroeder.
Preceded in death by his parents, survivors include his sister, Nancy Johnson (Richard); nephew, Tim Rykken (Frieda); great-nephew, Isaac; and extended family, Ryan, Jennifer, Sarah and Chase Barnett.
Sids ashes will be spread on family farmland in Chase County, Kansas. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 31, 11:00am at Messiah Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to Messiah Lutheran Church or to Good Shepard Hospice. Isaiah 30:23
