Obituary

Shirlie Ann Daniel went home to the Lord on March 5, 2024. She was born the second of three daughters to first generation Lebanese American parents, James D. and Hilwa Wehba, on May 29, 1935, in Elk City, OK.

After graduating from Elk City High School, Shirlie attended the University of Oklahoma and became an avid lifelong Sooner football fan. She worked at Xerox Corporation for almost 20 years in both Dallas and Oklahoma City.

After retiring, she and her beloved husband, Dan Daniel, traveled extensively, sometimes with her two sisters and their husbands. They also enjoyed golf, playing card games and spending quality time with their children and grandchildren. Shirlie remained a master bridge player her whole life. Her faith was strong and ever-present, and it showed itself in the way she treated all people. She was a most adored mother and Sittie (Arabic for grandmother) to her three daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. May her memory be eternal.

Shirlie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dan Daniel; older sister, MariLynn Shadid, and brother-in-law, George Shadid. She is survived by her three daughters, Jamie Diamond, Chandler Lewis (Michael) and Blake Daniel (Daniel Reiness); four grandchildren, Hayden Lewis, Sam Diamond (B.J. Robison), Perry Lewis and Dallas Atkinson (Michael); two great-grandchildren, Madison and Kinsley Diamond; as well as her baby sister, JimmeLou Shadid (Charles); and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions in Shirlie's name may be made to Meals on Wheels or to a food bank of your choice.
