Shirley Ann Sparks, age 79, was called home August 3, 2020. She was born June 18, 1941 in Paoli, Oklahoma to Van and Merine Combs. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Mel; son, Larry (wife Julie) of Oklahoma City; daughter, Bettina of Oklahoma City; grandson, Nathan of Oklahoma City; granddaughter, Kylie of Oklahoma City; sisters, Linda Riggs of Frederick, OK and Karen (Susie) Meason (husband Mark) of Geronimo, OK; brothers, Donnie Combs (wife Barbara) of Frederick, OK, and RC Combs (wife June) of Mountain View, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Genevive Cook; brothers, Ronnie, Preston and Clifton Combs. She loved watching professional tennis, Thunder basketball and OU Football (on mute). She loved seeing and sharing photos of her kids and grandkids. You could find her most days reading her Bible or listening to music on her iPad (or playing Angry Birds). Shirley had a strong faith in the Lord and was confident and prepared for where she would be spending eternity. Viewing will be Thursday, 9am-9pm, with family present from 5-7pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Friday, August 7, 10:00am at First Baptist Church, Bethany, Oklahoma where she was a longtime member. Interment to follow in Bethany Cemetery. Services will be recorded and available to watch after the conclusion of the service.
