Shirley Elizabeth Smythwood, 69, passed away December 22,2021 in Oklahoma City. A longtime resident of Oklahoma City, she was born June 18, 1952 in Pittsburgh, PA to Harry James Albright and Helen Virginia (Riggle) Albright. She graduated from business college and worked as a receptionist and caregiver. She married Kara "Mickey" Smythwood on February 24, 2006. Shirley enjoyed sewing, cooking, and volunteering. She loved animals and music, but most of all she cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Gallagher; and stepsister, Patricia Burns. Survivors include her loving husband of almost 15 years, Mickey; daughters, Christine Johnston and husband Ryan of Yukon, OK, and Jennifer Hart and husband Wade of Oklahoma City; sons, William "Bill" Gallagher, and Shawn Gallagher; sister, Esther Loughner; 9 grandchildren, Alex, Kayli, Megan, Victoria, Shawn Douglas, Joshua, Savannah, Michael, and Nicholas; 3 great-grandchildren, Riley, Aaryn, and Eoin; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and many more extended family members whom she loved very much. Viewing will be Monday, 2-8pm with family present from 5-7pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Tuesday, December 28, 10:00am at Mercer-Adams Chapel, Bethany, Oklahoma. .
